The Blue Whale Game is also called “Blue Whale Challenge”, is an online “game” that’s claimed to exist in lot of countries.

The game allegedly consists of a list of tasks allotted to players by owner of game throughout a period of 50 days, with the ultimate challenge requiring the player to kill. The term “Blue Whale” comes from the development of high-and-dry whales, that is connected to suicide.

Blue Whale began in Russia in 2013 with “F57”, The names of the supposed “death group” of the Vkontakte social network, and allegedly caused its first suicide in 2015.

Philipp Budeikin, a former medical student who was expelled from his university, claimed that he fabricated the sport. Budeikin expressed that his purpose was to “clean” the society by pushing to suicide those he deemed as having no worth.

In Russia in 2016, Blue-Whale came into broader use among teenagers when a journalist brought attention to that through a writing that connected several unrelated suicide victims to the blue whale, making a wave of ethical panic in Russia.
